i have decided that my final idea will be based on freelancing and seeing if it is the right way to make a living. i have decided this due to studying Television last year at college so i have learned a lot about freelancing in the creative industries with people coming in and telling about their experiences. With this background i feel like it will be easy for me to this tell this story as i have knowledge for it. Plus as a group we decided on Scottish Entertainment as a theme, With Scotland having a large part in Creative Industries i feel that focusing freelancing is a good way to inform people how hard it is to be one especially in the C.I

These videos are Just a few that i have checked out which proves there is a story that can be told. the two things that strike out to me is the income that people make when being a freelancer as the second video mentions how every freelancer has a income somewhere to help them. The Second point is the pros and cons of Freelancing as the third video shows why Nadia went from working as a freelancer to an employee which shows that working on your own is a really big risk.
Finally i feel this idea fits well due to the Radio Station we have chosen as a group which was BBC Scotland, I feel this story fits well due to the fact:
All the interviewees i am aiming to get are all Scottish based therefore it be fitting if the documentary would be broadcast on the Station.
A lot of the content that BBC Scotland produces like their documentaries focus on other aspects of entertainment such as literature and festivals.
also i feel the target audience would enjoy my idea very well, as the the age is 45+ a lot of people may still be working or retired but some of listeners may want to set up their own business therefore they might get a good idea how hard it is to be your own business regardless what your chosen field is.
thus i hope this post justifies why my idea is is good fit for our chosen station.
